His unconventional color combinations that broke the norms of traditional Japanese clothing, called "Rokuju (Sa) Jiiro with Ni Ju (Sa) Gara," were criticized by the industry, but
his original color tones were accepted by the market, establishing a style called "Sansa Style."
Famous sayings expressing his unique fashion philosophy include "Too elegant is vulgar, too stylish is crude," "Kimono is a living thing," and "Hundred-line refinement."
