Yamada Ori is a textile company founded in 1913 in Shiozawa, Minamiuonuma City, Niigata Prefecture.
It applies the techniques of 'Echigo Jofu,' an important intangible cultural asset with a 1700-year tradition,
introducing dyeing techniques into silk textiles (traditional crafts).
They handle more than half of the production area, continuing to preserve the tradition.
Known as 'Shiozawa' when it comes to tanmono (single-layer kimono),
it is a kimono loved by kimono enthusiasts during the early summer and early autumn months.
Now, it is used throughout all seasons, all year round, and
it is an ideal tsumugi for both tanmono and hitoe (single-layer kimono).
"Hon Shiozawa" differs from the general "Shiozawa Tsumugi" in that
both warp and weft threads are made from raw silk spun into Omeshi silk.
The warp threads are twisted 350 times per meter,
and the weft threads are twisted an additional 1800 times.
Because of this strong twisted thread, a textured surface like chirimen (crepe) is created.
The crisp, 'shari' (crackle) sensation on the skin is
unique to Hon Shiozawa.
It is a very high-quality item.
We are offering it at a low price, so please take this opportunity.
※ We strive to photograph in colors as close to the actual product as possible, but there may be slight differences.
※ If the seam allowance length is asymmetrical, the shorter side is noted.
Please note that we cannot accept returns or discounts due to asymmetry.
Thank you for your understanding.
※ We do not conduct inspection. Please be aware of this beforehand.
※ Since our products are one-of-a-kind, prices may change depending on the season and stock status.
※ For products marked as "Washable Kimono," we cannot accept returns after washing the item upon delivery.
Please have it cleaned at a specialty store just in case.
