都喜ヱ門は「紬一つをわが命とぞする」を人生哲学として、
七十有余年を大島紬と共に歩みました。
本場大島紬の伝統技法をベースにしながらも新しい図柄・技法を求め、
より忠実に表現するための絣や染色技法を開発し時代を先取りする
作品創りに打ち込まれ、1973年には『都喜ヱ門』ブランドを展開されました。
都喜ヱ門の作り出す、色彩豊かで美しく、
豪華絢爛な大島紬は「ペルシャ絨毯をしのぐ」とも言われています。
