Kurume kasuri (Kurume dyeing) is one of Japan's three major kasuri (ikat) textiles,
designated as a traditional craft by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry in 1976, and is a representative cotton fabric.

Even when we say kasuri, the process until the product is made involves about 30 steps including tying, dyeing, and weaving.
Also, the origin of the word "kasuri" is said to come from the fact that, when the fabric is woven,
the pattern appears blurred, which is how it got its name.
The greatest feature of Kurume kasuri is the technique of combining the warp and weft threads to
express complex patterns.
The beauty and unique texture of kasuri are created by skilled artisans.
