It is made using raw silk spun threads for both warp and weft.
The warp threads are twisted 350 times per meter,
The weft threads are twisted an additional 1800 times.
Because it uses these strongly twisted threads, a textured surface like chirimen (crepe) is created.
The crisp "shari" (crackle) and "shari-kan" (crisp texture) feel
Is unique to Hon-Shiozawa.
