1. Adoption of ""HD coating note 1"" to enhance image quality
We have thoroughly reviewed the coating of the long-popular "smc PENTAX-FA 35mm F2 AL" and adopted the latest high-performance multi-coating ""HD coating"". Compared to conventional multi-coatings, it reflects less light and has higher transmittance, reducing ghosting and flare under harsh shooting conditions such as backlighting, and achieving high-contrast, clear images.

Note 1: "HD" stands for High Definition.

2. Adoption of SP (Super Protect) coating that is resistant to dirt
The front of the lens features SP (Super Protect) coating with high water and oil repellency, making it easy to wipe off dirt, allowing safe use even in outdoor shooting environments.

3. New design matching the latest models
While maintaining the size of the base "smc PENTAX-FA 35mm F2 AL", the design has been completely renewed. With a new design that matches the latest DA and D FA lenses, it is a compact prime lens that pairs well with K-series digital single-lens reflex cameras. Additionally, by retaining the aperture ring, it allows the use of functions on older K-mount digital and film SLR cameras, enabling a wide range of shooting experiences.

4. Easy-to-use standard lens
When mounted on our digital single-lens reflex cameras, it provides a 35mm semi-wide angle for full-frame cameras and a 53.5mm equivalent standard angle of view for APS-C size cameras. It is an ideal everyday lens suitable for various subjects such as snapshots, landscapes, and portraits, with a natural human field of view. It also features a minimum focusing distance of 0.3 meters.

5. Compact design
With a weight of approximately 193g and a total length of 44.5mm, it is a small, portable design that makes it easy to carry and enjoy photography casually.

6. Adoption of hybrid aspherical lens
It uses hybrid aspherical lenses that effectively correct various aberrations. It delivers high-contrast, sharp images from the minimum focusing distance to infinity, and maintains good image quality even at open aperture across the entire frame."
