【武将について】
柴田 勝家（しばた かついえ）は、戦国時代から安土桃山時代にかけての武将・大名。織田氏の宿老であり、主君・織田信長に従い、天下統一事業に貢献した。
若い時から織田信秀の家臣として仕え、尾張国愛知郡下社村を領したという。地位はわからないが織田信長の家督継承のころには織田家の重鎮であった。1551年、信秀が死去すると、子・織田信勝（信行）に家老として仕えた。宣教師のルイス・フロイスが「最も勇猛な武将であり果敢な人物」とたたえたほど、勇猛で豪放磊落な性格だった。
1552年の萱津（かやづ）の戦いでは30騎を一気に討ち取るなど武勇に秀で、鬼柴田と呼ばれた。織田信秀の家臣として子の信勝にも仕え、信勝とその兄・信長の後継者争いにかかわるが、信長に降伏。
