This is a 1/48 scale kit of the VF-1J, which was piloted by Hikaru Ichijo in the first half of the TV series "Super Dimension Fortress Macross."
Building upon the 1/72 scale kit, this is the definitive "Aircraft VF-1" model, incorporating proportion adjustments and detailed expressions unique to the 1/48 scale!
The number of parts has not been unnecessarily increased, allowing for relatively easy assembly and focusing on detailed painting.
Key parts such as the fuselage, intake block, and engine block have larger interlocking sections for stable assembly.
The cockpit reproduces the TV version's design. Two types of canopies with different cross-sectional shapes are included.
You can choose between a type with no parting line in the center, or a type that reproduces the aircraft-like Ω-shaped cross-section.
The head can be assembled as either the J type or A type. A gun pod is included as armament.
The air brakes can be assembled in either open or closed positions. One seated pilot figure (in TV version suit) is included.
The main wings move in conjunction with each other. The vector nozzles are movable. For ease of assembly, the engine block is designed to be incorporated after painting.
