The P-40 series was deployed to all battlefields of World War II not only as a main fighter for the U.S. Army Air Forces but also for the Allied forces. Due to its excellent mass-producibility, ease of handling, and sturdiness, it was used for ground attack and anti-bomber combat. The P-40E was the first mass-produced model, with approximately 2,300 units produced in total. Compared to the previous D-type, it was an aircraft with improved armor and armament for enhanced practicality.
The kit features a parts configuration that pursues external accuracy and ease of assembly. The canopy can be assembled in either open or closed position. The front and rear parts of the canopy are molded integrally with the fuselage panel in clear plastic, making them easy to glue and resulting in a clean finish. A pilot figure in a seated pose is included. Two types of decals for U.S. Army Air Forces aircraft are included.
