Haruka Nakamura / Air (3rd Press / Turquoise Blue Vinyl) (12")
The classic EP "Air" has been repressed on turquoise blue vinyl! All lyrics, composition, and instrument parts are performed by Haruka Nakamura himself. The track "Air" features Janis Crunch, who provided vocals on "Grace," once again. The collaboration with photographer Shiori Iwakura, who created the artwork and music video, produces a fantastical visual that resonates with the world of the music, evoking feelings of spring’s beginning and hope—a dreamy number.
Included is a reconstructed version of the famous track "Arne" from Nakamura’s debut album "Grace." Additionally, a newly recorded version of "Lilium," which was used in the climax of the film "Everyday" for which Nakamura composed the music, has been added to this release.
On the B-side, there is a limited LP-exclusive track called "Anne," which can be considered a different version of "Arne" that was previously included in the 2013 compilation "Joy" by Schole. This piece connects the worlds of "Grace" and "Air." The album also features warm, nostalgic tracks that evoke childhood scenes, such as "Abandoned School Organ" and "Your Canon," which incorporate church organs, muted pianos, and field recordings.
The artwork, similar to the 8cm CD version, features a collection of photographs by the highly acclaimed photographer Shiori Iwakura, depicting beautiful natural landscapes. The cover and inserts showcase these images, creating a package where the soundscape of "Air" and the scenery blend seamlessly.
The mastering was done by Gen Tanabe, Nakamura’s trusted collaborator who also mastered the "Grace" analog. This deep, rich sound production offers listeners a new discovery, captivating those who were enchanted by the 8cm CD release. (Third pressing, March 2025)
