Hankyu Railway All Lines Covered!! The Modernism Along the Hankyu Railway Lines Continues to Be Carried by Hankyu Trains. Hankyu Railway connects Osaka with Kobe, Takarazuka, and Kyoto. Since its predecessor, Minoo Arima Electric Tramway, began its railway operations in 1910, Hankyu's "Hankyu Maroon" trains have been a vital artery for passenger transport in the Kansai region. The lines are broadly divided into three systems: the Takarazuka Line, the Kobe Line, and the Kyoto Line, each consisting of a main line and branch lines. This work features the Kobe Line.
The Kobe Main Line is the core route of the Kobe Line, connecting Osaka-Umeda and Kobe-Sannomiya. Opened in 1920 with the aim of high-speed transport between Osaka and Kobe, it has a good track alignment with many straight sections. The Limited Express trains run from Kobe-Sannomiya onto the Kobe Rapid Railway Line, operating to Shinkaichi.
Boarding a Limited Express train of the 7000 series, the journey departs from Platform 8 of the Kobe Line at Osaka-Umeda. Running parallel to the Takarazuka Line and Kyoto Line visible to the right, the train crosses the Shin-Yodogawa Bridge and arrives at Juso. The train travels at a maximum speed of 115 km/h, and before reaching Nishinomiya-Kitaguchi, you can see the vast Nishinomiya Depot. Proceeding through the elevated section from Kōen-Toshidai, the train runs parallel to the JR Line and reaches Kobe-Sannomiya. From Kobe-Sannomiya, the train enters the underground section of the Kobe Rapid Railway Line, arriving at the terminal, Shinkaichi.
On the return journey, board a Limited Express train of the 8000 series aiming for Osaka-Umeda.
The Koyo Line, a branch line of the Kobe Line, is traveled on a 6000 series train for one-man operation. The train runs along the river夙川 towards Koyoen.
The Imazu Line, connecting Nishinomiya-Kitaguchi and Takarazuka, is divided into north and south operating systems at Nishinomiya-Kitaguchi. The southern section crosses the Hanshin National Highway and heads to Imazu, while the northern section crosses the Muko River and reaches Takarazuka.
The Itami Line opened in 1920, the same year as the Kobe Main Line. After departing from Tsukaguchi, the train slowly navigates a sharp curve to arrive at Itami.
