Shinran Shonin is the founder of Jodo Shinshu, and he is enshrined on the upper tier of the Buddhist altar, to the right as you face it.
The subdued colors and mounting create a chic look that blends well with any Buddhist altar design. It has a different charm than hanging scrolls with ornate mountings.
Manufactured in Gifu Prefecture, a region known for its hanging scrolls.
