Set in the charming town of Kagurazaka, where the Edo atmosphere still remains, this is a "humanity comedy drama" that stylishly depicts the everyday joys and sorrows, and the bonds between people, of those living in the community.

[Content]
The protagonist, Ippei (Kazunari Ninomiya), a cook, is in his seventh year as the third cook at "Sakashita," a long-established Japanese restaurant in Kagurazaka. While admiring Ryuji (Tatsuo Umemiya), the head cook, he diligently trains in the way of a cook every day. On this day, it is the day when Tokio (Yuki Yokoyama), an apprentice, joins "Sakashita." Ippei, happy to finally have a junior, is slightly exhilarated. During his break, Ippei goes to pick up Tokio and finds himself being led around...

Meanwhile, the young proprietress, Ritsuko (Kayoko Kishimoto), is secretly proceeding with a plan to sell "Sakashita" and build a new "Sakashita" on the first floor of a new high-rise apartment building to be built there. Upon hearing this, the elderly proprietress, Yumeko (Kaori Yachigusa), consults with Yukino (Reiko Takashima), Ippei's mother and the owner of the bar "Yukino" in Kagurazaka. Then, Ippei is strongly urged by Yukino to secretly support the elderly proprietress... The story depicts the transformation of Kagurazaka's back alleys being swallowed by the flow of time due to the land sale of the long-established restaurant "Sakashita," the everyday sorrows that occur in the bustling shopping streets and restaurant kitchens, and the fading master-apprentice system, all from Ippei's perspective.
Furthermore, at the heart of the drama lies the question: who is Ippei's father...?
