The Profil company's owner, Günter Hensler, with full cooperation from the late Mrs. Anita and her son, is advancing the flagship project "Günter Vant Edition." Following the great success of Volume 1 (Product Number: PH09068 / ASIN: B002QEXC9Y), which compiled the late career live performances of the maestro Vant with the Berlin German Symphony Orchestra, alongside the Munich Philharmonic, released in 2012 to mark the 100th anniversary of Vant's birth and 10 years after his death, a sequel has been released.
Continuing from the previous volume, in addition to the steadfast German works such as Bruckner and Beethoven, there is a further enhancement of content including Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition," Stravinsky's "Firebird" suite, and Tchaikovsky's symphonies, which had been strongly requested by enthusiastic fans for CD release.
Furthermore, Beethoven's "Fate" and "Pastoral" symphonies are included in two different performances from 1992 and 1994, with the 1992 version also featuring rare rehearsal footage, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail.
This release also uses official master recordings, ensuring excellent sound quality, with full cooperation from Berlin RIAS, Deutschlandradio Kultur, and Berlin Brandenburg Broadcasting (rbb), as well as the former Free Berlin Broadcasting (SFB).
Vant's artistic style, characterized by strict and refined structural beauty, is immortalized in this masterful documentation, which is worthy of serious engagement and offers a genuine sense of authenticity.
