Lo-fi hip-hop covers of classic and popular city pop songs! GreyOctoberSound, a production team that gained international recognition with their lo-fi hip-hop covers of Ghibli songs, "Lo-fi Ghibli," is now releasing "Lo-fi City Pop," featuring covers of classic and popular city pop songs!

The production team GreyOctoberSound, known for their quality lo-fi hip-hop compilations like "Timeless" and "The Cave," and who gained widespread attention both in Japan and overseas with their 2022 release "Lo-fi Ghibli," a collection of lo-fi hip-hop covers of famous Ghibli songs, is now releasing "Lo-fi City Pop." This new release features their lo-fi hip-hop covers of city pop, a genre that Japan is now proud to share with the world!

The album includes lo-fi hip-hop covers of masterpieces by artists such as Miki Matsubara's "Mayonaka no Door," Yasuha's "Friday Chinatown," and Taeko Onuki's "Toshi," which are considered catalysts for the recent global popularity of city pop, as well as songs by Tatsuro Yamashita, Mariya Takeuchi, and Yumi Arai.

The jacket artwork is by Rika Hase, an illustrator who has created cover art for numerous books and CDs, as well as promotional art and visual designs. She also handled the visuals for "Lo-fi Ghibli."

This product is a strictly limited edition cassette tape.
