Greenpan is a Belgian brand that developed the world's first non-stick cookware without using fluororesin.
Greenpan was developed by Belgian Jan Helskens and Wim De Veirman.
Research began long before advanced countries like the U.S. publicly announced that overheating traditional fluororesin coatings releases toxic substances, and even before the industry was aware.
They started searching for a new coating that is safe for the human body and the environment as a substitute for fluororesin, working together with researchers.
They discovered that ceramic coatings used as smoke-proof materials are resistant to high heat and do not emit harmful substances. Repeated experiments were conducted to see if this could be processed into kitchenware.
