BUMP OF CHICKEN, who released the album "aurora arc" last year and successfully completed the "BUMP OF CHICKEN TOUR 2019 aurora ark" which drew 350,000 attendees, will release their first new material in about a year. This is a powerful double tie-in single.
"Akashia" is the theme song for the Pokémon special music video "GOTCHA!", released on September 29th. It's an up-tempo song that makes you feel like you can keep moving forward, and it will color the Pokémon special music video, which will be released worldwide simultaneously. Director Rie Matsumoto, who previously collaborated with the band for the Lotte 70th Anniversary special movie "Lotte x BUMP OF CHICKEN Baby I Love You Daze" last year, has once again partnered with them to create animation that will surprise the world.
"Gravity" is the theme song for the movie "Love Me, Love Me Not, Fall in Love, Fall in Love," released on September 18th. This is a film adaptation of a hit comic, and it marks the band's first collaboration with the up-and-coming director Kurosawa. It's a ballad that gently envelops you, and with its lyrics and sound, it's a wonderful song that strongly expresses BUMP OF CHICKEN's worldview.
The artwork, in collaboration with designer VERDY and photographer Ota, who also worked on the previous release, is designed to be timeless.
