Alain Milliat was born and raised in a family of orchard owners in Orliénas, near Lyon, and has been involved in fruit cultivation since 1983.

Driven by the desire to convey the sensation of biting into a perfectly ripe fruit through juice, he created the first six types of juice in 1997 and proposed a tasting session to 60 sommeliers from Relais & Châteaux.

Encouraged by the sommeliers' impressed reactions, the juices and nectars were launched under the "alainmilliat" brand.

Like fine wines, these products, which emphasize grape variety, origin, producer, and manufacturing process, are gaining attention as a gourmet specialty of France. They are currently used in over half of France's 5-star and 4-star hotels and approximately 1,300 top restaurants.
