The "Patterns of Happiness" series is an original design by Fuwa Market, created in collaboration with textile designers, focusing on the "meaning of wishing for happiness" inherent in traditional Japanese patterns.
Pine, one of the patterns in the series, has been a symbol of "eternal youth and longevity" because it retains its green leaves year-round and withstands harsh winters. This auspicious motif has been designed in a modern style to fit into contemporary lifestyles.
✔ Meticulous Craftsmanship: Carefully finished one by one at a specialized factory in Kyoto.✔ Modern Traditional Patterns: Six types of patterns available in two colors, offering a delightful selection.✔ Ideal for High-Quality Gifts: The "Patterns of Happiness" convey special sentiments.
Enhance your enjoyment of visiting shrines and temples.
The Goshuincho (temple and shrine stamp book) is a large B6 size, measuring approximately 18cm (7.08 inches) in height and 12cm (4.72 inches) in width. This convenient size allows for neatly attaching pre-stamped Goshuin.
It features a folding accordion-style design with 48 pages in total (24 pages on each side). As it is folded like an accordion from a single long sheet of paper, you can view multiple Goshuin at a glance when unfolded.
Beyond its use as a Goshuincho, it is also attractive for its versatility as a mini notebook, scrapbook, travel journal, recipe book, or portfolio, depending on your imagination. Each time you hold it, your mind will feel at ease, making your temple and shrine visits even more enriching.
Craftsmanship that Highlights the Charm of Hand-Dyeing
The hand-dyed Japanese paper used for this Goshuincho is meticulously finished one by one by Yuzen Washi dyeing artisans at a specialized factory in Kyoto.
Its appeal lies in the deep colors and unique texture achieved through traditional techniques.
Looking closely at the pattern, you can appreciate the delicate layering of colors unique to hand-dyeing.The subtle variations in shade and bleeding enhance the texture, creating a one-of-a-kind beauty.
Each sheet is carefully dyed individually, resulting in a depth and warmth that cannot be achieved with simple printing.
The finished hand-dyed Japanese paper is then meticulously assembled into each book by Kyoto's box-making artisans. The subtly different expressions of each book create a sense of exclusivity for you.
Please experience the charm of this texture and warmth, born from the hands of artisans.
The Wishes and Prayers Embodied in the Pine Pattern
Pine is a Symbol of Prosperity
Pine is a plant that Japanese people have long cherished as a sacred symbol. Its ability to retain its green leaves even through the cold winter has led to wishes for "eternal youth and longevity," while the characteristic of having both male and female flowers bloom on a single plant has inspired wishes for "prosperity of descendants."Since the Edo period, it has been an indispensable element in everything from entertainment to daily life, depicted on the paneling of Noh stages and used to create Kadomatsu (New Year's pine decorations) to welcome the Toshigami (New Year's deity). The powerful vitality and beauty of pine continue to be loved by many people today.
The colors are available in a soothing green and a warm orange. While the colors are subdued, they possess a distinct character, making them ideal for adding color to your Goshuin-collecting journeys.
*Please note that due to the cutting of large sheets of paper, the pattern placement may vary from one item to another.
