One of the series features the pine pattern, which has been regarded as a symbol of "longevity and eternal youth" because it retains green leaves throughout the year and withstands harsh cold weather. The motif has been modernized to harmonize with contemporary lifestyles, incorporating auspicious symbols into a modern design.

The size of the Goshuincho (stamp book) is a large format of 18cm (height) × 12cm (width) (B6 size). Its convenient size allows for neat placement of handwritten or stamped Goshuin (temple/shrine seals).

The book has 48 pages in total (24 sheets, double-sided), with a fold-out accordion structure. When opened, it displays multiple Goshuin at a glance, making it easy to view several stamps simultaneously.

Besides being used as a Goshuin book, it can also serve as a mini notebook, scrapbook, travel journal, recipe book, or portfolio—its versatility is another attractive feature.

Craftsmanship that highlights the charm of hand-dyeing

The washi paper used in this Goshuincho is hand-dyed by Yuzen washi dyeing artisans at a specialized factory in Kyoto. Each piece is carefully crafted by hand.

The deep colors and unique textures achieved through traditional techniques are truly captivating.

Looking closely at the patterns, you can see the delicate layering of colors characteristic of hand-dyeing. Subtle gradations and bleeding enhance the handcrafted feel, creating a one-of-a-kind beauty.

The hand-dyed washi paper is then finished by Kyoto’s box-making artisans, who craft each book by hand. Slight variations in each piece add a sense of exclusivity and specialness just for you.

Pine trees have long been cherished as sacred symbols in Japan. Their evergreen foliage throughout winter symbolizes "longevity and eternal youth," while the presence of both male and female flowers on a single tree has been associated with "prosperity and descendants."

Since the Edo period, pine trees have been regarded as divine, depicted on Noh stage walls, and used to make kadomatsu (New Year’s pine decorations) to welcome the Toshigami (New Year deity). They have become an essential part of both entertainment and daily life.
