● [T-shirt Body]Produced by Japan’s leading T-shirt manufacturer (43 years in business), with domestic production.- Over 10,000 business partners- Annual sales: approx. 45 million shirts nationwide- Annual revenue: 20 billion yen- OEM supplier for major department stores, apparel retailers, and various brand shops
[Printing/Print Factory]Printed at a T-shirt print factory in Fukui Prefecture, which owns multiple in-house factories.- Handles approx. 800,000 shirts per year
● Final finishing, inspection, packaging, and comprehensive logistics management (domestic and international) are handled by the Kyoto Ippitsu-ryu Office Atelier (our own factory in Higashi-Osaka, Osaka Prefecture).* Depending on quantity, partner companies may also be involved.
[DTF (Direct to Film) Transfer Printing]A method where the design is printed onto a special film and then heat-pressed onto the fabric. No plate-making is required, there are no color limitations, and printing is possible on fabrics other than cotton. Full-color designs and photographs can be printed with vivid, sharp results.* Disadvantage: Over time and with repeated washing, the print may peel.
<Notes>- For dark-colored garments, a pre-treatment agent is used during printing, which may leave marks on the treated areas. These marks will be present upon delivery but will become less noticeable after several washes.- If the printed surfaces are left touching while drying, the print may peel. After spin-drying in a washing machine, separate the printed surfaces as soon as possible.- Washing the garment inside out by hand will help preserve the color. If using a washing machine, place the garment in a laundry net.- Avoid using bleach or dry cleaning. Refrain from using an iron or dryer as much as possible.- Some garments may bleed color during the first wash. For the first wash, wash separately from other garments.
[What is Ippitsu-ryu (One-Stroke Dragon)?]As the name suggests, the dragon’s body is drawn in a single, uninterrupted brushstroke, imbued with wishes and prayers. It is believed that this technique ensures “unbroken prosperity and fortune,” “continuous good relationships and growth,” and “ongoing protection and safety.” For about 400 years, from the Edo period (1603–) to the present, the Ippitsu-ryu has been revered as a powerful dragon deity, believed to bestow strong blessings and protection.“The symbol of Kyoto Ippitsu-ryu’s protection and blessings: the body is drawn in a single, unbroken stroke.”▲ We have crafted the revered Ippitsu-ryu into a familiar fashion item—a T-shirt. Enjoy wearing it alone or coordinating it with various fashion styles.
● We have created and tailored 26 types/colors of Kyoto Ippitsu-ryu paintings (for fortune-raising, protection, and matchmaking) in various types, specifications, and materials.
● Impressions from those who have experienced the Kyoto Ippitsu-ryu artwork:- Feelings of protection and blessings- Divinity- Excitement- Sense of being protected- Dynamism / Impact- Overwhelming vividness- Beauty- Coolness- Strength- Brilliance- Delicacy- Energy- Purity
[Kyoto Ippitsu-ryu Artist / Keisuke Teshima]Fascinated by dragons since childhood, he has continued to draw dragon art. Influenced by 14 years of karate practice since age 6, he learned the spirit of the Japanese way. Encountering the traditional Ippitsu-ryu, he was deeply impressed by its technique and history, and, believing it to be his calling, mastered the technique through self-study. While preserving the tradition of Ippitsu-ryu that has continued since the Edo period, he pursues the dragon with the spirit of “Shuhari” (守破離: follow, break, leave). He is one of only three Ippitsu-ryu artists in Japan. Although originally from Fukuoka Prefecture, through a series of coincidences and destined encounters, he now has an atelier in Higashiyama, Kyoto—the thousand-year-old capital where the dragon deity is said to reside.
[Kyoto: The City Where the Dragon Deity Dwells]For over 1,000 years, Kyoto has been considered a place imbued with the power of dragon deities residing in “dragon holes” and “dragon veins.” Many shrines and temples associated with dragons exist, and pilgrimages to these dragon deities have been popular from ancient times to the present.
[Dragons (Dragon Deity Belief) in Japan]Since ancient times, Japan has been considered a mystical land where dragons dwell. Dragons have been regarded as messengers of the gods or as deities themselves. In many shrines, temples, myths, and legends, dragon deities are revered and worshipped as symbols of “prosperity” and “protection.”
