1937年(昭和12年)築地で創業
創業者、渡辺雲晴は浄土真宗の僧籍を持ち、築地本願寺の依頼もあり、地球儀製作を始めた。
戦後はGHQ、文部省などの協力を得て、より本格的な地球儀・天球儀の製作を開始。
学校教室用のプラネタリウム、星座早見盤で特許を取得して販売。
精密な作りと読みやすさを追求した製品は文部科学省を初め官庁、学校から信頼をされる。
天文教材を多く製作していることから“宇宙から見た地球"を最新のデータからいち早く作り始め、その種類を増やしている。
また地球のリアルな姿から得られる環境情報を盛り込んだ地球儀は、科学館・博物館からも高く評価されている。
