【Introduction to William Gillock】
One of the important composers in the music education world.
Born on July 1, 1917, in La Russell, Missouri, USA.
After graduating from Central Methodist College in Missouri, he moved to New Orleans, Louisiana,
and was active as a piano teacher for about 21 years.
Later, he moved to Dallas, Texas, and dedicated himself to composition.
Meanwhile, he also served as an audition judge for students and conducted workshops for piano teachers across the United States.
He held key positions in music organizations, such as a board member of the National Musicians Association and president of the Louisiana Musicians Club Federation.
He is also listed in the “World Biographical Dictionary,” “Men of Achievement,” and “Who's Who of World Musicians.”
He passed away on September 7, 1993, in Desoto, a suburb of Dallas.
