マンカラ(カラハとも呼ばれます)は、紀元前から世界中で遊ばれてきた対戦頭脳ゲームで、最古のボードゲームのひとつと言われています。
アフリカや中近東、東南アジアで古くから親しまれ、遊び方は世界各地で100種類以上あるとされています。
遊び方はシンプルですが運の要素はなく、「先を読む」「駆け引き」などの戦略が必要で、子どもの知育や大人の脳トレとして、世代を問わず楽しめる木製ゲームです。
付属の遊び方ガイドには4種類の遊び方を掲載。
【遊び方】(マンカラ・ベーシックのルール)
1.各ポケットに石を4個ずつ置きます。手前のポケットが先攻プレイヤーの陣地、奥のポケットが後攻プレイヤーの陣地です。
2.先攻プレイヤーは、自分の陣地からポケットをひとつ選んで、入っている石をすべて取ります。取った石は、右どなりのポケットから反時計周りに1個ずつ置いていきます。
3.最後の石がゴールで置き終わったら、続けて自分の番となります。ゴールではなくポケットで置き終わったら、相手の番になります。
4.これを交互にくり返し、先に自分の陣地から石をなくした人の勝ちです。
