The name "ylang-ylang" means "flower of flowers" in Malay, and in Indonesia, it is romantically said that newlyweds sprinkle ylang-ylang flowers on their beds. It is a tropical tree found across Southeast Asia, Madagascar, and the Coral Islands, with beautiful yellow, pink, and purple flowers from which oil is extracted.

The lasting scent is woody, sweet, and dry, from "cedarwood."
