The TV anime 『Fushigi Dagashiya Zenitendo』 is based on a children's novel series published by Kaiseisha, written by Reiko Hiroshima and illustrated by jyajya. The original work has been published since 2013, with 16 volumes released as of September 2021, exceeding a total of 3.5 million copies. In February 2022, it was ranked first in the 3rd “Children’s Book General Election” chosen by 160,000 elementary school students, attracting increasing attention.
Animation started broadcasting on TV in September 2020, with DVD volumes 1 and 2 released in August 2021, and volumes 3 and 4 released in January 2022. The mysterious stories, condensed into 9-minute episodes, have firmly captured the hearts of Zenitendo fans.
The upcoming DVD volume 5 includes episodes 41 to 52 of the TV series, with the showdown between the candy shop “Tatarime-do,” which views Redko as a rival, and Yodomi reaching its climax. The shop faces a crisis when a black beckoning cat sent by Yodomi alters the effects of the candies, but what will be the outcome?
Episode 45 also reveals the events that sparked the feud between Redko and Yodomi thirty years ago.
