This furoshiki is a collaboration between "Lotta Jansdotter," a popular textile artist in the Nordic design world, and "Link Collective," a brand that creates unique textile products, primarily furoshiki.
Furoshiki Buller (Rock)
"Buller (Rock)" is a design inspired by the nature of the "Åland Islands," Lotta's hometown located between Sweden and Finland.
It is printed one by one by artisans in Kyoto using the traditional Japanese dyeing technique "Tenassen" (hand-dyeing).
Unlike mass production by machines, each color is carefully layered using separate screens, resulting in rich, subtle color variations and patterns.
The slight overlaps and occasional blurring of colors, unique to handwork and unachievable by machines, become the individuality of each cloth, giving it a warm feel.
