カワスキとは革を薄く削る事で裁断した革の裏側、床面を削る事により、縫い易く綺麗な仕上がりになる為に行います。
カードケースや名刺入れ、トラッカーウォレット、レザーグリップナイフケース、トートバッグ等のレザークラフト作品を、すっきりとした美しい仕上がりにすることが出来ます。
通常はステッチンググルーバーで溝を掘り革包丁で溝の外側の革を薄くします、これを段漉きというのですが、これが大変で時間的にも手漉きは技術もいります。
専門の方に皮漉き機で依頼すれば作成することも可能ですが其処はDIYの楽しみの一つですね。
本格的な高級レザーツールで材質にはハイス鋼（高速度鋼M390）を使用、切断工具として適しており心地よい切れ味を楽しめます。

研磨棒に商品サイズと同じタンニンなめし革を貼り付けシャープナーオイルとルージュスティックを塗布します。
手前に引いて研磨し。
返してバリ取りを行います。
