1990年にリリースされたシリーズの第1弾、1993年にリリースされたシリーズの第2弾に続いて、本作がリリースされたのが1997年になります。本作のレコーディングは1993年1月から1994年の3月に掛けてパリのアコースティ・スタジオで行われました。
しかし、そのレコーディングが終了して間もない1994年7月、パリ・ミュゼット界の大スター、ジョエ・ロッシが亡くなり、1996年にはジョー・プリヴァそして本シリーズの全てのギターを演奏したディディエ・ルーサンとディディ・デュプラが亡くなり、期せずして本作は彼らに対する追悼盤となってしまいました。
さらに2000年には本シリーズのプロデューサーであったパトリック・タンダンも亡くなり、本シリーズの3枚はまさに2度と実現する事のない貴重なものとなりました。
本「オリジナル・パリ・ミュゼット3」は1では軽く触れたに過ぎない側面、ミュゼットの起源に触れている(それは6曲目で聞かれるアコーディオンがイタリア移民によってフランスにもたらされる以前、パリ・ミュゼットを演奏する際の主流の楽器だったキャブレットを披露しているなど)事が聴き所の一つです。またパリ・ミュゼット界の大スターが一堂に会して、素晴らしい演奏を聴かせているのも本作の特徴です。
