Hana to Ki no Kobo Mayflowers is a workshop run by a husband and wife team, Mr. and Mrs. Shibata, who create craft works utilizing local resources in Minami-Alps City, Yamanashi Prefecture.
The wooden bowls are made from Yamanashi-grown cypress, carefully finished one by one by hand. They are exceptionally lightweight compared to general wooden tableware, and their simple design fits comfortably in the hand for easy use.
We are delighted that they are designed with sufficient durability and ease of handling to be chosen as everyday tableware, rather than just for special occasions.
The coating used is a safe and durable prepolymer from Kotobuki Kako Co., Ltd., which is also used for food service ware. Despite its durability, it achieves a beautiful and natural finish that highlights the wood grain.
This prepolymer is the high-grade PS-NY3000, allowing you to use it without worry about food stains and with easy, maintenance-free care.
This prepolymer is carefully applied in approximately 15 coats, without skimping on time or effort.
This stew bowl is versatile, perfect for serving stews and soups, as a salad bowl, a side dish bowl, a mini rice bowl, or a noodle bowl for children. It is an exquisite item that can be used daily for various purposes. Even when filled with hot beverages, it does not get as hot as ceramic or glass, and when filled with cold drinks, condensation is minimal.

* While it can generally be used for any dish, some discoloration may occur with highly pigmented foods such as curries with spices or coffee.
* Dishwasher use is not generally recommended, as high-temperature drying can cause warping or cracking, and collisions with other dishes can cause scratches. However, we have been using a dishwasher daily for testing purposes, and no major issues have occurred.
* Cannot be used in a microwave.
