The FLASH NERV Circuit Board Art iPhone Case features a red LED implemented in the NERV section that lights up without a battery.The LED lights up by converting the radio waves emitted by the iPhone itself into electricity and boosting the voltage. It does not light up under normal conditions, but lights up when strong radio waves are emitted. Because it reacts to the iPhone's radio waves, it flashes randomly.It is more likely to light up when using data-intensive apps like Google Maps or map applications, or when the iPhone is searching for location information in elevators or underground malls.
The mechanism for lighting works as follows: an antenna circuit on the back of the board catches the weak radio waves emitted by the iPhone and transfers them to the front of the board. An amplification circuit is built into the front surface, which increases the voltage and current to light the LED.The circuit that lights the LED without a battery was patented in 2020 (Patent No. 6667777).
