Staff Comment: The VINTAGE CUSTOM 1959 STRATOCASTER has arrived. This is a high-end model that reproduces the characteristics of 1959 while incorporating modern elements to enhance playability.
It features an extremely thin NOS (New Old Stock) flash coat lacquer finish that can be enjoyed as it ages.
The neck is made of strong rift sawn maple and features a comfortable "1959 'C'" shape.
The fingerboard is AAA grade slab rosewood with vintage "clay dot" position markers.
It features a compound radius fingerboard, starting at a vintage style 7.25 inches at the lower frets and progressing to 9.5 inches at the higher frets.
While the original configuration is three Custom Shop Hand-Wound '59 Single-Coil Strat pickups, the front pickup has been replaced with a single-size new sustainer that also functions as a pickup. With the installation of the sustainer, the front pickup's TONE pot has been modified to a Push/Push sustainer On/Off switch, and the center pickup's TONE has been modified to a Push/Push sustainer mode selector.
When the sustainer is Off, it functions as a normal TONE control.
