The film is eagerly awaited for Blu-ray release!
The nationwide theatrical release will start on June 21, 2024, at TOHO Cinemas Hibiya and approximately 200 other theaters across Japan.

■ Starring Hana Sugisaki × Based on Yuko Yuzuki’s "Kokuryu no Chi"
Yuko Yuzuki, an acclaimed author of the Hayabiki Award, has had numerous series adapted into visual media, including "Kokuryu no Chi," "Sakato Sadato," and "Reasonably Impossible." This film is based on her "Sakura" series' beginning, "Kuchinai Sakura" (Tokuma Bunko).

The protagonist, Izumi Moriguchi, is played by Hana Sugisaki, a highly trusted young actress known for her performances in "Ichiko," "52Hz Whales," and "Unrequited Love World," with consecutive leading roles.

Director Hiroshi Hara, who was selected to direct "Return of the Dangerous Detective," is an emerging talent. He has directed many dramas such as "Utsubora" (2023/WOWOW) and "August Batting Center at Night" (2021/TV Tokyo). This is his second feature film.

The police officers surrounding Izumi include talented actors such as Rihiku Hagiwara, Koji Toyohara, and Akira Yasuda.

Hagiwara Hiki, who gained fame in the "Beautiful Boy" series, plays Shunichi Isogawa, a younger peer and Izumi’s partner-like figure. He secretly harbors feelings for Izumi and supports her investigation with youthful charm.

Akira Yasuda, portraying the former Public Security officer and Izumi’s superior, Takayuki Togashi, captivates with a sharp, understated performance.

Koji Toyohara plays Koosuke Kajiyama, a prefectural police investigator involved in the case. The contrast between the calm Togashi and the active Kajiyama, brought to life by two veteran actors, creates a compelling dynamic.

The final scene, where Izumi makes a firm decision amid falling cherry blossom petals, offers a cathartic and visually stunning climax that breaks the boundaries of typical genre films.

A female university student living in Hirai City, Aichi Prefecture, was murdered by the eldest son of a shrine family after repeated stalking incidents. An exclusive scoop by the local newspaper revealed that the police delayed accepting her report of harassment, during which she went on a leisure trip.

Izumi Moriguchi, a public relations officer at the prefectural police, suspects that her journalist friend Chika Tsumura, who broke her promise to report the case, was involved. Chika is found dead a week later, also a victim of a mysterious death.

If Izumi hadn’t doubted her friend, Chika might have survived. Driven by guilt and remorse, she vows to catch the person who killed Chika herself.
