ダークサイドの魔物たちとの戦いは、相手の身体の部位（頭、腕、胴、足など）を選んで攻撃していく特徴的なシステムになっている。これにより、相手の弱点の部位さえわかってしまえば効率的な倒し方ができるようになるのだ。
ほかにも本作の特色として、サイコスリラー的な側面をたん能できるよう、アレックスが狂気に駆られていく様子を、ゲーム画面をゆがませたり、幻聴が聞こえることでうまく表現している。ゲーム進行の妨げになるばかりか、プレイヤーの精神的圧迫にもひと役買っている。知力と反射神経を駆使して、いにしえから続くダークサイドとの戦いに決着をつけたい。（荒沢有紀哉）
