Edwyn Collins' 9th solo album is here! Edwyn Collins, who has greatly influenced the music scene as the frontman of Orange Juice and as a solo artist, spanning post-punk, neo-acoustic, and indie pop, presents his 9th solo album!
Approximately 6 years since his previous album "Understated," he moved his home and studio to Helmsdale, a coastal area in the northeast of Scotland. He built a studio from scratch on a hill overlooking the coast, and there, he meticulously crafted this new album at his own pace with great care and affection!
The album is a fulfilling work that conveys the skill of a master and the maturity of an adult, featuring British-style pop tunes, dandy-esque mid-tempo numbers, deeply sincere singer-songwriter tracks, and even some alternative rock tunes. Sean Read of DEXYS MIDNIGHT RUNNERS and BIRDIE is the co-producer, and Carwyn Ellis, known for his work with COLORAMA and SOUTHERN FLY, and James Walbourne of PRETENDERS and RAILS, also participate.
By the way, the title is written as "BADBEA" and pronounced "BAD BAY." It is the name of a village where Edwyn's grandfather once lived, which no longer exists, and the album was inspired by it.
