Mokkiri
"Mokkiri" is the style of pouring sake generously into a glass placed inside a wooden sake cup, filling it to the brim.
It is said to be a more refined way of drinking sake from a wooden cup, favored by connoisseurs, and is a corruption of the word "morikiri" (meaning to fill to the brim).
There is no set procedure, but the general method is to first take a sip from the glass while it is still in the cup, then lift the glass when the level has dropped enough not to spill, and drink the sake from the cup. Finally, drink the sake remaining in the wooden cup, which has absorbed the aroma. The sake in the wooden cup can also be poured into the glass.
