He began playing the saxophone in the brass band at the age of 8 and won numerous awards at prestigious competitions. He began his professional career while attending Tokyo University of the Arts and made a striking CD debut. As a soloist, he has performed with most of the major orchestras in Japan, including the NHK Symphony Orchestra, Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra, and Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra. In parallel, he has been actively involved with the saxophone quartet "The Rev Saxophone Quartet" and the wind orchestra "Panda Wind Orchestra," building his own world of Kohei Ueno by balancing classical music and wind music. He also has a good rapport with the media, serving as the host of NHK-FM's "Kakeru Classic" and making appearances due to his passion for trains. This album is the fifth commemorative album from Kohei Ueno, a revolutionary figure in the saxophone world, released for the first time in four years. It features a fulfilling lineup, carefully selected by Ueno himself without compromise, ranging from original compositions for saxophone to standard and popular recital pieces.
