The Tokaido Line, which runs through the Kanto region and Tokyo, is a super long-distance route spanning 1 metropolis and 5 prefectures. It connects the Utsunomiya Line, Takasaki Line, Joban Line, and Tokaido Line, and will celebrate its 10th anniversary in March 2025.
By adding new tracks between Tokyo and Ueno, the two stations that previously served as turnaround points, they are now connected, improving access to the city center and various parts of Kanto.

This product features a ride from Atami on the Tokaido Line aboard a 10-car set of E231 series 1000 series (upgraded vehicles), heading toward Utsunomiya.
Departing Atami under a bright summer sky, the train runs smoothly along the scenic route between the sea and mountains, passing by the famous filming location "Hayane-bu" with a side glance.
From Odawara to the final destination Utsunomiya, the flat Kanto Plain stretches out, allowing you to experience its vastness.
On the straight sections of the Tokaido Line, the train approaches speeds close to 120 km/h, progressing swiftly. As it nears Tokyo, more tracks run parallel, and the train encounters various trains such as the Splendid Odoriko, Keihin-Tohoku Line, and Limited Express Hitachi.

Upon reaching Tokyo, passing through high-rise buildings, the train enters the newly constructed section.
It climbs the steep gradient of 34‰, also called "Kanda Pass" by fans, then immediately descends another steep gradient.
Passing through Akihabara and Okachimachi, the train arrives at Ueno.
This marks the turnaround point for the journey, entering the Utsunomiya Line.
Passing Nippori, the line with Japan’s highest number of parallel routes, the train crosses the Arakawa River into Saitama Prefecture.
After passing Omiya, the scenery gradually becomes more suburban and tranquil, passing through Ibaraki Prefecture before reaching the terminal station and final destination, Utsunomiya, in Tochigi Prefecture.
