【年代等】寛政7年以前刊（従来、嘉永頃刊とされてきたが、今回の発見により、寛政年刊以前の初刊と判明 ）。刊行者不明。
【備考】分類「往来物」。袋綴じ展開収録。寛文11年板系統の『小野篁歌字尽』（本文冒頭が「木」で始まる） に語彙を増補した往来で、同題の嘉永三年板とは別内容。まず、「木・椿・榎・楸・柊」以下127行622字から 成る寛文11年系統の増補『歌字尽』で、本文を大字・4行・付訓で記し、各行左端に暗誦用の和歌を小字・2 行書きにする。なお、明治初年後印の旧謙堂文庫本には、後半に（1）家財・諸道具・日用品・衣類を主とす る「万字つくし」、（2）漢字の部首集である「片造冠沓構」、（3）「名頭字」に五性の区別を付記した「人の名を 付頭字・五性相生にて付る」、（4）「摂政」以下諸官の名称を列記した「百官類」、（5）「十宗」および僧侶官位 の名称である「諸宗名目」、（6）「細川・水野・三浦」以下の名字集である「名字類」、（7）「七ッいろは」等を増 補してある。
