**Legendary Epic Directed by David Lynch, the “Creator” and “King of Cults”**
In commemoration of director David Lynch’s memorial, the legendary masterpiece "Dune / Sand Planet," directed by Lynch, is now available in a highly anticipated 4K remastered UHD Blu-ray edition!
Despite being considered impossible to film, Lynch, renowned as the “King of Cults” with overwhelming talent, adapted Frank Herbert’s monumental sci-fi novel—once deemed unfilmable—using his unique visual aesthetic. This film is a super epic that features Lynch’s meticulous attention to detail, creating a distinctive imagery that is unforgettable once seen.

While the film was not a commercial or critical success upon release and is considered an unintentional work for Lynch, it has long been revered among film fans as a cult movie.
The terrifying designs of the sandworms, the grotesque appearances of the characters, and the alien-like creatures—all infused with Lynch’s signature style—make this a captivating work.

**★ The legendary epic packed with Lynch’s world now available in a Japan-exclusive 4K remastered UHD edition with special bonus features!**
In 1984, "Dune / Sand Planet" was a bold attempt to adapt Frank Herbert’s epic sci-fi novel, which was once thought impossible to film. Producer Dino De Laurentiis, known for works like "King Kong" (1976), succeeded with "The Elephant Man" (1980), and chose Lynch, a talented director, to helm this costly production.

Forty years after its Japanese release, as the "Dune" remake trilogy directed by Denis Villeneuve, starring Timothée Chalamet, garners attention, this edition with luxurious bonus features is revived in stunning 4K remaster!

**★ Star-Studded Cast & Crew!**
This film marks the film debut of Kyle MacLachlan, who later became an icon of Lynch’s works, including "Twin Peaks" (1990). It also features Sting, with music composed by Brian Eno and TOTO.

**★ A Cult Classic Among Film Fans for Many Years!**
The film’s appeal lies in its detailed Lynch-style creature designs—such as the sandworms (sand worms) and the eerie creatures created by Carlo Rambaldi for "Alien" (1979) and "E.T." (1982)—as well as the grotesque appearances of characters like Baron Harkonnen.

**Story**
In the year 10191 AD, the universe is ruled by Emperor Shaddam IV. The planet Arrakis is the only source of the drug Melange, which grants immortality, and the emperor is scheming to control it.
Navi-gators of the Spacing Guild, sensing the conspiracy, visit the emperor to confront him. The emperor, wary of Duke Leto Atreides, who developed the destructive weapon "Holtzman module," initially grants him Arrakis but then conspires with Baron Harkonnen, his rival, to overthrow him.
The Navi-gators, considering Paul Atreides, Leto’s son, a threat, order his assassination.
The Atreides family arrives on Arrakis but is attacked by Harkonnen’s forces. Jessica, Paul’s mother, and he escape into the desert. They join the Fremen, the native inhabitants of Arrakis, and with the help of the "Holtzman" device, they build a large army.
Paul manipulates a giant sandworm and destroys Harkonnen’s forces one after another. After drinking the Fremen’s "Water of Life" and becoming superhuman, Paul challenges the emperor in a final battle.
