DSIS adjusts the movement of the foot using this insole and supports the "three arches" of the sole. This allows toes to be used properly, promotes rhythmic walking, and reduces foot fatigue. It is an insole feedback from the medical field.

◆ Focus on Dynamic Balance During Walking

Humans have evolved to walk upright on two legs. About a quarter of the body's bones are in the feet. Walking involves landing on the heel, using the arch to shift the center of gravity toward the toes, and pushing off. This is dynamic balance during gait.

The DSIS insole absorbs shocks and reliably supports the transfer of the center of gravity from the heel to the arch and toes.

Moreover, the impact-absorbing material Sorbo Sain is designed to have shock absorption similar to skin and muscles, so it does not burden the body.

When using the DSIS insole, impact on the heel is reduced, and the arch is effectively used to transfer the center of gravity toward the toes. Proper walking line creates healthy feet.

◆ Insoles Used in Medical Settings

Insoles are called foot orthoses or insoles in medical practice. Their purpose is to distribute pressure on painful areas and reduce foot burden.

They also prevent and correct deformities of the sole, guiding the foot and posture into proper alignment. The goal is to improve symptoms by enabling the foot to function correctly.

◆ Plantar Fasciitis and Insoles

The plantar fascia is a thick ligament running from the inside of the heel to the front of the foot, playing a vital role in maintaining the arch. When inflamed, it causes pain in the sole and makes walking difficult. Causes of plantar fasciitis include excessive exercise like jogging or running, or sometimes occurs without clear cause in middle-aged and older individuals. To reduce inflammation and load on the plantar fascia, insoles are prescribed.

◆ Accessory Navicular and Insoles

An accessory navicular is an extra bone. It protrudes on the outer side of the navicular bone (just below and slightly in front of the inner ankle, palpable by touch). It can cause pain and is often seen in flat-footed individuals or children. Treatment includes anti-inflammatory and pain relief therapy, and insoles are prescribed to reduce tension in the posterior tibial tendon.

◆ Sesamoid Bone Disorders and Insoles

Sesamoids are small bones embedded within tendons, serving as pivot points for joint movement. Two sesamoid bones are located at the base of the big toe. They bear significant load during weight-bearing and can become inflamed (sesamoiditis). To alleviate this, anti-inflammatory and pain relief treatments are used, and insoles are prescribed to reduce load on the sesamoids.

◆ DSIS Sorbo Mediful was developed based on feedback from the medical field

Focusing on the three arches around the arch of the foot, we developed this product in collaboration with Dr. Toshihiko Uchida, a medical doctor (orthopedic surgeon), member of the Japan Shoe Medical Society, and a councilor of the Japan Foot Surgery Society. Together with the non-profit organization Orthotics Society, founded by Dr. Uchida, we have promoted product development and awareness activities. DSIS Sorbo Mediful is an insole born from these activities. The product name "Mediful" reflects its origin in the medical field.

The "DSIS" system, devised by our NPO Orthotics Society, aims to adjust foot movement with this insole to reduce foot troubles. It is an insole feedback system directly influenced by the medical field, hence "DSIS Sorbo Mediful."

■ Usage Instructions:

1. Remove the existing insole from your shoe.

2. Place the new insole over the removed insole, aligning the heel, and compare sizes.

3. If sizes differ, mark the outline along the outer edge with an oil-based pen.

4. Carefully cut along the marked line with scissors, taking care not to cut yourself.

5. Insert the cut-insole into your shoe, ensuring the toe area fits properly, with no tilting or floating parts. Check by hand.

Replace the existing insole with the new one. The insole is designed with appropriate thickness for shock absorption. If the shoe's interior is too tight, it may not fit.
