"Installation Method"
The assembly (installation) method for this brass drum valve is as follows.
Using the included Teflon tape and O-ring seals will ensure a more secure seal.
Prepare the drum opening: Ensure the opening of the drum where the valve will be installed is clean and free of debris.
Prepare the valve threads: Wrap the included Teflon tape around the threads of the part of the valve that will be screwed into the drum.
Wrapping the tape in the same direction as the screwing direction (usually clockwise) will more effectively fill gaps and prevent water leakage.
Install O-rings: Attach the included three O-ring seals to the appropriate grooves or installation points on the valve.
They are typically used at the connection point with the drum or at points where sealing is structurally required for the valve.
Install the valve: Align the valve, with the Teflon tape and O-rings attached, straight with the drum opening and begin screwing it in by hand.
Once it becomes difficult to turn by hand, use a tool such as an adjustable wrench to tighten it further.
However, be careful not to overtighten, as this could damage the threads of the drum or the valve.
Ensure it is securely fixed and there are no gaps.
Check for leaks: After installation is complete, we recommend adding a small amount of liquid to check for any leaks.
