The basic method for investigating cases is "interrogation." Tim interrogates humans, while Pikachu interrogates Pokémon to gather testimonies. Some Pokémon will even cooperate with the investigation by utilizing their unique abilities.
For example, Growlithe can follow scents with its excellent sense of smell. Using this ability, Pikachu can ride on Growlithe's back and race through Ryme City to search for evidence.
