DESTINY = What is fate?

A young wife, Akiko (Mitsuki Takahata), who married a mystery novelist, Masakazu Isshiki (Masato Sakai), living in Kamakura, is utterly surprised by her life. When walking down the street, monsters, ghosts, youkai, Buddha figures, and even the Grim Reaper (Sakura Ando) appear.
Apparently, Kamakura is a town where humans and non-humans live together peacefully.

In addition to writing novels, Masakazu also helps with investigations at Kamakura Police Station, and is busy with hobbies such as collecting model trains and tropical fish.
Such an Isshiki family is lively with various characters appearing one after another, including a housekeeper who is possibly 130 years old, Kin (Tamao Nakamura), a long-time editor, Honda (Shinichi Tsutsumi), and even a poverty god (Min Tanaka), among others.
Although it’s a bit different from Akiko’s ideals, a fun new married life has begun.

However, Masakazu has a secret he has been hiding from Akiko.
This secret seems to have caused Masakazu to question his marriage.
Why did Masakazu fall in love with Akiko?

One day, Masakazu, who had fallen ill, wakes up to find Akiko’s figure gone. She left a letter overflowing with love for her husband――.
It turns out that Akiko died in an accident and has traveled to the afterlife (the world of the dead).
Realizing her love for his wife only after losing her, Masakazu decides to go alone to the afterlife to bring her back.
There, he is met with monsters that took Akiko to the underworld and the figure of that person…….
The fate of the Isshiki couple, risking their lives, now begins to move.
