Because it can handle difficult conditions such as fast currents or double tides and offers relatively high versatility, it is often used as a pilot jig to be deployed first when the situation is unknown.
Due to these characteristics, it is also effective for target fish with high swimming ability. The spiral fall action—which follows a fast movement to make the fish chase the jig—resembles a baitfish that has lost its sense of direction and is falling due to eye strain. This combination of simulating both a fleeing baitfish and a weakened baitfish is effective for both migratory blue-runners and reef fish.
