The Shonan Sagami High School basketball team, a prestigious school often called the best in Kanagawa Prefecture.
They advanced through the Kanagawa Prefecture Inter-High Preliminary Final League, but were defeated by their rivals, Mizuho High School, in the third round of the main tournament.
Time passes, and Ayumu Fuse, the ace, takes over as captain.
As they begin their journey to nationals with new recruits, third-year point guard Yanagimoto is sidelined due to injury.
The vacant point guard position is decided to be a "two-person system" between second-year Aoyama and first-year Kashiwagi, following a competition for the starting spot.
Furthermore, first-year Mori is also selected for the team.
Then, the Kanagawa Prefecture Inter-High Preliminary Tournament begins.
Second-seed Shonan Sagami advances smoothly and reaches the Final League.
In the first match of the four-team Final League, Shonan Sagami defeats Masaki Chuo, while Mizuho defeats Yokohama Gakuen, finally setting up a match between the two schools.
The game is dominated by Mizuho's pace due to the fierce offense of Kyo Ryoga, "the reincarnation of Aikawa," and Ichinose.
Shonan Sagami desperately tries to keep up, but in the third quarter, their defensive linchpin, Ohara, is ejected, and they lose by a one-sided score.
The battle against Yokohama Gakuen begins, with the remaining spot for the Inter-High tournament at stake!!
