In 2020, the Saltiga Top Plug Project officially launched. Dive Star was completed after two years of development with absolute confidence. The goal was to cast farther than anyone else and achieve flawless action in any sea condition. It took a very long time to accomplish this mission. First, experience this excitement in the field.
Commitment
Aiming to make a diving pencil easy for everyone to handle, we believe it is important to thoroughly pursue basic performance. First, the casting distance to quickly reach distant schools or points. Flight posture is very important for this, as rotation or wobbling during flight prevents achieving satisfactory distance. Dive Star adjusts this with fine weight balance, and even with a 220mm plug, it can be smoothly cast by keeping the body weight at 105g and hook weight at 125g. The stress-free distance will make encounters with large fish more accessible.
Action
Even with relatively strong rough jerk actions, it is difficult to make it jump out, and once in the water, the flat part of the head receives water and easily achieves an ideal diving action with simple rod work. It appeals to the water surface with powerful waves from the side for big fish lurking deep, switching on the bite. The body features 3D analysis of fish skin, realized with holograms. By layering stripe patterns that mimic scales, it achieves a shine almost like a living fish. Named ADEL, this hologram was developed through a strong partnership between Murata Gold Leaf Group, a gold leaf manufacturer founded in Keio Year 1, and DAIWA, and is the world's first installation. The head's mouth part is colored to improve visibility, even in rough water. Furthermore, the standard equipment includes a heavy-shank, rust-resistant triple hook attached with a 230LB split ring, suitable for unexpected large fish.
