HYPERDRIVE DIGIGEAR

A newly designed gear system in bait (dual-axis) reels that pursues continuous strong and smooth rotation. The gear module (size) that directly affects durability is not reduced, achieving a higher engagement ratio, and enabling long-lasting smoothness—an exclusive Daiwa technology.

HYPER DOUBLE SUPPORT

A drive support system that realizes sustained smoothness and strong, lightweight winding. By supporting both ends of the pinion gear with two ball bearings with high precision, it reduces input from the handle, allowing for powerful and easy winding even under load.

HYPER ARMED HOUSING AL)

A housing system that internally supports the structure with high rigidity and high precision, producing a delicate winding feel and power. Using metal materials for the essential frame, combined with side plates and set plates, it maintains and extends basic performance. Anode protection is a technology that mitigates metal corrosion. Also called sacrificial anode, it involves zinc (anode) corroding instead of the metal. By incorporating this technology into reels, corrosion is concentrated on the anode plate to maintain durability.

Syncro level wind

Syncro level wind is a mechanism where, when line is released, the level wind follows the line position and moves in sync to the left and right. The advantage is less resistance during line release and improved smoothness during drag operation. In SALTIGA 300, structural reform of the syncro mechanism was carried out similarly to the 21 SALTIGA IC. To achieve a "compact" design, the syncro structure, previously mounted on the paering plate side, was relocated to the handle side. This structure is one of the main reasons for the successful compact design.

Spool lock mechanism

A mechanism that fixes the spool and locks reverse rotation. When removing a snag, pulling forcibly can damage not only the line but also gears and ball bearings. However, using the spool lock mechanism allows disconnecting the spool from the pinion gear, preventing damage to gears and bearings. Usage is simple.

Switch the spool lock lever to ON.
Turn the clutch OFF.
In this state, apply tension and pull to cut the line. The key is to disconnect the spool from the pinion gear.

Thumb-holding frame

Analyzing various angler grips, a shape that fits comfortably in the hand was pursued. Developed a thumb rest position called the thumb-holding frame, which makes thumb-slinging easier and reduces finger slippage.
