Sharp casting and sensitivity open up the seabass game. Designed to maximize lightness, comfort, and sensitivity for more catches.

Seabass fishing involves casting size-specific lures repeatedly. It is a game of collecting information through repeated casting, understanding seabass locations, lure trajectory, and actions. "Seabass fishing = casting" might not be an overstatement. Therefore, Daiwa believes that when choosing a rod to pursue seabass fishing, the primary focus should be on casting performance, followed by true sensitivity for information gathering. The LABRAX AGS concept is "Shinka (sensing)." It emphasizes casting and sensitivity. Casting performance relates to distance and accuracy, achieved through a sharp, slender blank that produces a quick, precise swing, and a high-speed flying lure that feels like it’s being pulled into the target spot with a refreshing sensation. The sensitivity ensures that all information—bottom contact, lure movement, water depth, current—is delivered directly to the hand, focusing on what is crucial for catching seabass. The lightweight design significantly improves operability. This LABRAX AGS is a high-specification rod built solely for seabass game, not just for casting and winding, but for actively constructing seabass fishing strategies. The secret to nimble operation is a slender, sharp blank and a concentrated center of gravity.

The evolved blank achieves both lightweight and low power loss by incorporating Daiwa’s proprietary lightweight AGS (Air Guide System) with the line passing through a carbon frame that has about three times the rigidity of titanium, providing high sensitivity by transmitting even the slightest signals directly to the blank without absorption. The carbon’s lightweight nature improves swing speed and reduces tip wobble, greatly enhancing distance and control. The tip is lightweight and easy to swing, allowing precise control, such as water plug dog-walking or minnow jigging.







Slim and sharp high-performance blank

Using a resilient, slim HVF Nanoplus blank with X45 reinforcement at appropriate points, it maintains lightness while reducing power loss. Compared to previous models, it results in a clearly different blank with each cast. An Awasemaru (hook setting mark) is also included.

The lightweight, high-sensitivity AGS (Air Guide System) uses a carbon frame, which has about three times the rigidity of titanium, allowing it to transmit even the faintest signals directly to the blank without absorption, resulting in high sensitivity. The carbon’s lightness improves swing speed and tip stability, greatly increasing casting distance and control performance.


X45

To prevent twisting during casting, action, hooking, and fighting, extensive research concluded that, in addition to conventional structures (0° and 90° to the rod tip), wrapping a bias cross (at 45°) with carbon fibers is appropriate. The inclusion of X45 prevents twisting, dramatically improving power, operability, and sensitivity.


AIR SENSOR SEAT

The Air Sensor Seat with carbon fiber content achieves lightweight, high strength, and high sensitivity. It is specially designed for different rod applications, providing operability that cannot be experienced with general reel seats.


V-JOINT
