Using ZAION V

Body, body cover, rotor material use ZAION V, first time in casting reels, maintaining strength while achieving lightweight design.

LC spool & cross wrap

Equipped with LC long cast spool, first in 35mm stroke. The taper angle is the same as the popular surf Beash 45, 2, and features cross wrap to reduce line bite, resulting in fewer backlash troubles and smooth line release, enabling comfortable casting.

Lightweight handle arm

Adopts an 85mm aluminum machined lightweight handle arm. Provides stable winding feeling with high rigidity machined handle.

Handle knob exchangeable

Compatible with S size knobs.

Compatible with 35mm spools

Can attach spools from previous Daiwa 35mm straw reels. Compatible with non-drag and QD models. Not compatible with non-drag QD models.

Uses ZAION V

First in casting reels, adopts ZAION V. Maintains strength while reducing weight compared to conventional reels in the same class. 15g lighter than Grand Surf 06PE, 100g lighter than Wind Surf fine line, and 75g lighter than Power Surf QD.

LC long cast spool & cross wrap

First in 35mm stroke, adopts the LC spool, which is standard in 45mm. The taper angle is the same as the popular surf Beash 45, 2, with cross wrap to reduce line bite, resulting in fewer backlash troubles and smooth line release, enabling comfortable casting.

Lightweight handle arm

Adopts the lightweight aluminum machined handle arm used in the top model until Tournament Surf 45, contributing to overall weight reduction. Maintains necessary strength while reducing weight by 17g compared to 15 Grand Surf 06PE and 23g compared to Power Surf QD.

Spool compatibility

Compatible with 35mm stroke casting reels released since 2003, for non-drag and QD models. Not compatible with non-drag and QD models. ZAION V Zaiyon V

Made to be lighter and stronger for many reels, this carbon hybrid resin, Zaiyon V "V", is versatile. By precisely controlling the amount of carbon hybridized, it achieves superior lightweight and high rigidity, surpassing metals, and offers versatility that can be installed in many reels. It inherits the essence of Zaiyon, the maximum specification of carbon hybrid resin.

LC-ABS Long Cast ABS

Maintains the concept of reducing contact resistance as in ABSII, but moves the contact point forward for smoother line release. The ring protrudes forward, making it harder for line to ride on the ring, resulting in about 5% longer casting distance and fewer troubles. It is the next-generation ABS spool that realizes LC long cast.

MAGSEALED Magnetic Seal

Creates a magnetic oil barrier between the body and rotor to block intrusion of seawater, dust, etc., providing waterproof structure.

Cast lock manual return

Features a cast lock that fixes the rotor when the bail is lifted, preventing accidental bail reversal during casting. After casting, the bail is manually returned.
